March 2010
The primary election is behind us but the runoff election will take place shortly so we will continue working for our favorite candidates. Kudos to Jennifer Naedler, who ran several campaigns, and to all those who spent many hours supporting their chosen prospective leaders. Read more...

Thanks to the 106 voting members and 29 dual members who have renewed or joined our dynamic group for 2010. Those who send their payments to us by February 28 will continue to receive our news and updates. We will be contacting those who have overlooked their renewal opportunity to help them remain involved and informed this year. Read more...

November 2009
For me, Thanksgiving is a wonderful reminder of so many important lessons about this country. First, I’m reminded of our humble roots as a nation where Pilgrims came to escape religious persecution and find the freedom to worship as they saw fit. Abundant blessings also come to mind as the Pilgrims triumphed over very hard conditions to reap their first harvest. More...
October 2009
Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather starts to cool, leaves begin to drop, the air turns crisp and college football is in full swing! However, I am not quite sure why this part of the calendar resonates with me so much, because it can also be a very hectic time. School starts, functions abound, schedules fill up and every organization in town seemingly offers an event to attend. It can easily become a challenge to figure out where and when to volunteer our time and resources. My hope this fall is that you will recommit to making Village RW as dynamic an organization as possible. We have our work cut out for us… More...
September 2009
Back-to-school means back-to-work for the members of Village Republican Women. It is time to get back to the harsh realities of everyday life and everyman politics. I hope that your summers were restful and that you are eager to address key issues of the day. Whether it is Cap & Trade, Education, Energy Alternatives, Health Care, Immigration, Taxes or whatever, your passion and involvement will be required if we are to turn around this country’s slow, but steady march towards socialism. More...
May 2009
It’s beginning to feel like summer in Houston, Texas. That’s probably because we’ve already hit the 90 degree Fahrenheit mark and it’s only the beginning of May!! But before you head for the mountains or the beach, I hope that you’ll take a moment to review what’s happening within our club over the summer. More...
April 2009
I’ve heard it said that, “April showers bring May flowers.” But all I ever think that April brings is my tax bill! April 15th has come to be a date that most Americans dread. It’s the day we “settle up” with Uncle Sam. I don’t know about you but everywhere I turn my taxes seem to be going up. At what point does it become another case of “taxation without representation?” More...
March 2009
Whoever first said, “May you live in interesting times,” must have had just these times in mind. It seems that every day the news gets worse and worse. Bailouts, foreclosures, job losses, business failures, stocks tumbling… The list seems endless. Indeed our very way of life feels like it’s under attack. Most economists say that it will take a long time before any real recovery will begin. Good news is very hard to find. More...
February 2009
This is the month in which our country has chosen to pay homage to its presidents. George Washington, the Founding Father of our country, was the first President on whom this honor was justifiably bestowed. President Washington was born on February 22, 1732 but a holiday in his name was not observed until some 100 years after his birth. More...
January 2009
As yet another year begins, I bet a lot of us have made a resolution or two. Isn’t that what new beginnings are all about? The opportunity to reassess one’s path in life and then make the changes that seem worthwhile is a time-honored tradition in this country. As your incoming 2009 President, I’m certainly no different in that regard. More...
